The
Bureau of the Conference of European Statisticians
will meet on 11 June 2010. The Bureau will discuss follow-up actions
to decisions that have been taken during the CES 2010 plenary session,
the organization of the 2011 CES modules on foundational issues of
official statistics and new emerging issues, follow-up work on
statistical measurement of quality of employment, an in-depth review of
the use of mixed and secondary sources for official statistics, and
progress in climate change related work.
The
58th plenary session of the Conference of European
Statisticians (CES)
provides a platform for
coordination of international statistical work in the UNECE region. Its
members are Heads of national and international statistical
organizations representing the UNECE and OECD member countries, some
countries from outside the region and all major international
organizations active in statistics. This year two main topics will be
discussed: spatial statistics and the impact of global crises on
statistical systems. In addition, there will be in-depth reviews on
time-use surveys and measuring the information society and statistics on
science, technology and innovation.Three documents will be submitted to
the CES for possible endorsement: Manual on gender statistics,
Measurement of Different Emerging Forms of Households and Families, and
Statistical Measurement of Quality of Employment.
